Steph Schwartz is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, Scarborough.
Hello! I am a “part time” (IYKYK) teaching stream faculty member & social psychology researcher at The University of Toronto at Scarborough.
In my research I investigate patterns of attitudes towards a wide range of technologies. I also study ways in which our perceptions of others’ moral values influence our judgments of their actions and characters.
As a teacher, I am passionate about making connections with students and encouraging them to pursue their interests inside and out of the classroom. As most university courses have hundreds of students who get lost in a sea of student ID numbers on spreadsheets, I actively try to give students a small classroom learning experience.
Outside of work I hang out with my cats, play (a lot of) ultimate frisbee and immerse myself in Toronto’s amazing drag scene, and I volunteer at Mystik Cafe, come check us out!
@UTSC students: if you’re looking for guidance navigating your Psychology education at UTSC, please feel free to stop by my office hours or make an appointment with me to chat. I’m always happy to help those who are looking to help themselves :)
